Project Green Dorm

Taking care of our planet is a shared responsibility and opportunity. Being green isn’t just about buying organic or recycled products, but rather about being mindful and embracing the transition from conventional to conscious living. Project Green Dorm offers an eco approach to the back-to-school season. “Dorm” is metaphor for any living space – home, apartment, space, you name it. Each of the twelve categories highlighted in PGD, features a “look book” with best in category – products that TTG has vetted for safety, sustainability, and efficacy. Whether a recycled binder, organic cotton sheets, or certified organic deodorant, support companies that lessen the impact on human and environmental health. If you buy new, purchase sustainably, but also consider sharing, swapping, and buying used or “pre-loved” items from eBay Green, local vintage, thrift, and second hand shops. Chances are… if you make one change, you will make more and head down a more sustainable path.

Individual and collective choices are powerful. As a global populace, we consume more than that which is available; our demands of the planet are wholly unsustainable. So buy less and buy smart! Look for labels like USDA Certified Organic, organic cotton, BPA Free, Fair Trade, and 100% post-consumer recycled. Informed consumers that opt for greener alternatives can change the world!
